2008 Season Comments
2008
Season: Several
folks in the Hellyer community
wanted to comment on the
highlights of this past year.
By far the most talked about
event was the very successful
Masters Nationals held at
Hellyer. Closely related
to that were the many successes
that Hellyer racers had at
both Masters and Elite Natz,
as well as Masters Worlds.

3rd RTWC race celebrating
the accomplishments of many
of those successful Hellyer
riders. |

In addition to the general racing
comments, here are few special moments:
From Rich Hill - "Rob Jensen
and Glenn Kubacki ran an extremely
successful Sunday afternoon juniors
program, running from February through
October. Lots of success with the
more experienced kids(e.g., national
champion in the 10-12 women (Claire
Jensen)) but it's the beginners that
come out and keep improving week
after week that are really fun to
watch. Kids that can barely make
it around the track their first time
out that are doing decent 500m times
and having fun in races a few sessions
later."
From Donna Woods - My 2 cents:
1.Community. We all felt welcomed
and included.
2.The experts such as Kevin, Warren,
Larry and Peter shared their expertise
freely and often.
3.Everyone was energized this year.There
was more positive effort and passionate
hard work that was put into Hellyer
than I've ever seen in the past and
this energy (good juju) was passed
on to everyone who rode the track.
4.There were more people who seemed
like they were seeking solutions
rather than being snarky.
And from Warren Geissert - "I
think the most important 2008 highlight
was the sprint between Annabell and
me at the third sprint tourney."
